I know I’m healthy when

When do you know you’re healthy?

I feel most of us only notice when we’re sick, injured or slowed in some way but I’ve been asking family, friends, clients even cafe baristas and other customers this question and here are some of the answers. Health is most certainly more than the absence of disease:

  • When I’m happy for no apparent reason (my fav)

  • When I doubt less and do more

  • I'm less reactive (easily irritated) and more proactive (loving) to those around me

  • I'm not giving health a second thought (love this one too)

  • When I’m not sick?

  • When I wake up motivated with lots of energy

  • When I heal fast from a cut or even something bigger

  • When my breath just smells like breath?

  • Number 1s and 2s just happen, easily, without event or colour changes

  • Oh and you don’t need to wake in the night to pee

  • When I sleep well, more often than I don’t cos we all have the odd bad night right?

  • When you’re not ‘off’ marmalade sandwiches like Paddington (my son’s contribution!)

  • We reach for the chicken soup when we’re sick, maybe we feel like nice foods and varieties of foods when we’re healthy
