Christmas eating isn’t all bad!

I feel there’s a naughty vs nice list when it comes to food and thankfully most of that goes out the window at Christmas! Instead we source good food, we cook our own traditional fares, we share with family and friends, we plan for leftovers when the shops are shut and we generally eat like … well like we should?!

At Christmas we celebrate - holidays, family and friends, hope, and food. With the whirl of Christmas spirit in the air, all these things are full of ‘intentions’, and thankfully food joins in for once!

Most of the time, I feel that’s the problem with food … it’s just not that deep. We treat it as boredom, addiction, a hobby, guilt, control, and sometimes hunger. When in fact it is nourishment, building, fuel, upgrading, restoring, clearing, and not to forget delicious! We should treat everything that enters our body as a piece that adds value to our biological, emotional, physical, spiritual, and energetic “you”.

At Christmas we plan our day, our decorations, our food courses, cook from scratch and best of all we share, all with the best intentions. The car parks at supermarkets are nuts, the traffic is next level and people join the crowds with their Santa hats on and smiles at the ready. We find time to source good food and cook it cos it’s a priority at Christmas. It’s the unsung hero of the season!

Take that Christmas spirit and apply it to all the little things this season: if you’re going to do it you may as well do it well. Enjoy it and then bring some of that thoughtfulness into the rest of your year.

Merry Chrissy, happy holidays and much gratitude for being here especially.
