Fill’er up: nutrient density

You hear the term real food thrown around a lot these days. But what really is real food? I believe it consists of three things

- it’s properly prepared - some need to be eaten raw and that’s their most healthful. Some need slow cooking to max nutrition and bioavailability

- it’s nutrient dense - big diff conventional va pasture raised meats - and it’s the natural food for its body so grazing eating grass is healthful for animal for meat and for our bodies. Grain feeding animals is not healthful for their bodies, their meat or ours.

- it’s consists of whole foods - foods from nature in their original form. They have no ingredients. They are ingredients. We know where they come from. Package bag box is processed. Often processed foods have parts of foods. Even juice isn’t whole. It’s just the juice.

It’s true that the soil our food is grown isn’t what it was, but more so, we no longer understand nutrient density, but calorie density when we eat, and we cannot digest because low stomach acid is epidemic and we’re so busy working and cephalic response time is non existent!

The body has a profound ability to heal itself when you provide it with the right building blocks. This is nutrient dense food - the bang for your buck meals full of variety and colour (aka nutrient variety) and most important of all joy! When we eats the right things and balance the the foundations, health naturally follows.
